Ancient Audio Player

Ancient is a local-first audio player for those who want to curate and build out their audio library with their own files.

Library Ownership

Import MP3, FLAC, M4A, WAV, AAC, AIFF, and AIF directly from the Files app or via USB from Finder.

Organize and Archive

Browse by artist, album, song, playlist, or compilation. Edit metadata after import. Mark compilations separately. Delete anything you do not want.

Experience Artwork

Store multiple images per album and choose the primary. Add custom artwork for artists, albums, and playlists. Zoom, pan, and swipe through artwork in Now Playing.

Playlists

Export playlists as zip files containing original audio files, portable M4A copies, artwork, and a tracklist.

Shuffle

Deck Shuffle prevents repeats until every song in the current pool has played. Contextual shuffle works from artists, albums, playlists, and compilations.

Library Export

Export your entire library as a single backup, including audio files, artwork, metadata edits, playlists, and settings.

Customizing

Customize colors, fonts, text size, rounding, borders, shadows, artwork display, and which tabs appear. Export and import themes.

Ancient Privacy Policy

Ancient does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data or information. All data including audio files, album art, and metadata is only ever stored on your device. You are able to export all of your data via "Export Library" or delete all of it at anytime by deleting the app.
